ASMR or not?

Someone asked me once: do you like what you're doing? Filming ASMR videos? I meant yes, but hesitated for a little while. It's a "yes" but it has its own "buts".

I'm not talking about the complexity of the process (quiet room, no happy neighbours, good props that eat up your living space), I'm talking about the process itself. To some, playing with objects is no issue. Like, "what's difficult in crinkling a package of cotton pads and keeping a smile on your face covered with makeup all over? Don't you have enough brains to actually think and do something that requires a mental effort?"

Good point. I have too many ideas and thoughts bursting inside of me to keep them actually inside. I'd looove to get a "talking" channel discussing life stuff that would be easy to show to strangers. "What are you doing in life?" - they ask and I give them a link that shows a smart version of me discussing topical issues that bother me and my generation. How easy it would be! Because I still struggle showing my ASMR channel to people I don't know well enough. I have to explain. A lot. And "talking" channels are simple: their owners speak in a normal voice, they don't do weird things (or the weird things don't look like fetish or they are likeable dumb kind of things), their videos have clear cut titles. For example: "How to organize your working space" or "What to do in between jobs?" or simply "How to stay sane?" Sweet and undesrtandable. Useful and nice. On the other hand, "Scratching the mic" video doesn't look comprehensible enough to a newcomer. Why would you scratch the mic? Is it itchy? So the explanations follow.

And I'd love to make this "easy to show" shop-window thing that can be understood by everyone. The issue is that I don't want to do it for others, just for the sake of looking understandable. I'll probably create such a channel some time in the future, but when I do, it won't be to "cover" myself. I still hope that ASMR will grow soon to such an extent that random people will nod knowingly when they hear this notion.

Do you think that ASMRtists should have "usual" channels as well if they have something to say to the world? You can say this in whisper though. Sometimes you can't squeeze everything inside of a whispered video though.

Too many thoughs!
